The Tumbleweed compost tumbler has a neat, compact design makes it an ideal compost bin for any level composter with any amount of garden space. By giving the Tumbleweed a spin every few days, it's easy to create fresh compost. The 100% UV protected, recycled plastic is a dark green color. When the sun hits the dark compost bin, it heats up the contents inside, speeding up the breakdown process. A stainless steel bar going through the compost bin breaks up any larger clumps that might form, further helping the breakdown process. The galvanized steel leg base makes this composting unit extremely sturdy, no matter how heavy the compost inside gets. These legs won't rust, so the composter will last many years out in the elements. With dual-end twist lock lids, it's easy to add or remove material no matter which end is up. The locking lids also prevent any small animal pests from getting into the bin. The lids are also vented, keeping the compost aerated while allowing any compost tea to drain out into the soil under the bin. The Tumbleweed compost tumbler holds up to 58 gallons of materials while continuously breaking down kitchen scraps, yard debris and other compostable materials into rich, organic compost that plants will love.

How To Bring An Old Lawn Back to Life

!±8± How To Bring An Old Lawn Back to Life

If your lawn or parts of it are not growing well it can really be a drag and an eye sore either for the view of your house or the rest of your garden. If you are affected by having a poor lawn don't despair, as it is very easy to remedy and the tips below are simple enough to implement and will make a definite change to how your garden looks.

First of all it is important to make sure that you mow your lawn regularly from spring to autumn. Keep the height of the grass and weeds in the lawn to no more than 2 inches during the spring. Once you have done this rake any cuttings as well as dead grass away. At this stage the lawn will look somewhat messy, but you will find that the appearance will improve considerably within two weeks.

In the months that follow right through to late autumn, make sure that you never cut the grass to more than two thirds of the height it was beforehand. If the grass it cut too short this will harm the grass and allow more weeds and moss to grow.

To effectively revive the lawn spread a good fertilizer that also contains weed killer. This will encourage the grass to grow. Later in the autumn you should then add some lawn feed which should take care of any problems that may be left over.

You should then also apply moss killer if there are any patches of it on your lawn. Make sure you don't rake it till it turns brown at which point it will be very easy to take out with a rake. Dead brown moss makes bad compost, so just throw it out. If after one moss removal treatment there is any moss left over just repeat the treatment one more time.

Should you have any bare patches on the lawn, lightly make indents in the soil after it has rained and remove any weeds. Then sprinkle the grass seeds and gently rake. Do not water the area till the seeds have germinated.

If your garden goes through any dry spells water the lawn regularly. However do make sure that you water well because if you use water sprinklers that don't eject efficiently, this may only have the effect of dampening the lawn making the roots grow upwards drying them out. So make sure you wet the soil well so that this wont happen.

By following those simple procedures you will find a huge improvement in your lawn and by the following spring you should have a garden that looks more green and weed free. A poor lawn also attracts pests and disease which will also mean that the rest of your garden that isn't affected will further improve. And since you will use less chemicals to control weeds and pests that will also be good for your own well being.
